Swedish diplomat. He was also an entertainer and a theater manager. Along with his older brother Hjalmar Fransson-Högqvist (1839-1874), he was one of the two acknowledged extramarital sons of King Oscar I of Sweden and Norway in his relationship with Swedish actress Emilie Högqvist. The brothers were also known unofficially as the Princes of Lapland. He was a merchant and served as Vice Consul for Sweden and Norway in Shanghai, China, where he got involved in entertainment. An obituary in the Shanghai Evening Courier mentions his work as a very talented and tireless manager of the local Concordia Theatre and its much appreciated concerts where he would dazzle and highly bemuse audiences by performing in comedy drag.
After a period of illness, he died unmarried of a heart attack. It is safe to assume that he was buried somewhere in Shanghai. (His brother died two years later in London, England, married to Emilie Amalia Hafström and with one surviving daughter). There is no known adult picture of him.
