Nordic princess. She was of the Bernadotte Dynasty, daughter of King Oscar I and Queen Josephine, and a Princess of Sweden and Norway. She was a major philanthropist and Chairman of the Eugeniahemmet Foundation. A hospital in Stockholm is also named for her. The princess was also an image artist and a composer and a friend of Swedish psalmist Lina Sandell. She had Villa Fridhem in Gotland built, and willed that large island retreat to her nephew Prince Oscar of Sweden, Duke of Gotland.
