She was a major philanthropist and Chairman of the Eugeniahemmet Foundation. A hospital in Stockholm is also named for her. The princess was also an image artist and a composer and a friend of Swedish psalmist Lina Sandell. She had Villa Fridhem in Gotland built, and willed that large island retreat to her nephew Prince Oscar of Sweden, Duke of Gotland.
