Fransson Högqvist, along with his younger brother Max-Högqvist, was one of the two acknowledged extramarital sons of King Oscar I of Sweden and Norway in his relationship with Swedish actress Emilie Högqvist. The brothers were also known unofficially as the Princes of Lappland. Fransson Högqvist worked as a mail clerk on the western main line before going to sea as a supercargo on one of the Wilson Line's boats to England. He married Emilie Amalia Hafström and have one surviving daughter. They lived in Gothenburg and he died in London 1874.
