Mrs. Ella Bartel, 85, a former Reedsville resident, died Sunday morning at Maple Crest Nursing Home, Whitelaw. Funeral services will be at Friedens United Church of Christ, Reedsville. The Rev. T. F. Hilgemann will officiate and burial will be in Potter Cemetery.
Mrs. Bartel was born April 7, 1883, in the Town of New Holstein, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Holst. She was married to William Bartel Oct 24, 1907, at Chilton. Mrs. Bartel had been a telephone operator at Potter for 25 years and was a member of the Ladies Guild of the church. Her husband preceded her in death.
Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Eldor (Evelyn) Janke of Rt. 2, Brillion; a sister, Mrs. Anna Smithers of Fond du Lac; a step-brother, Carl Pethan, of Stockbridge; three grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
