Mrs. Sylvester, a resident of Opelousas, died at 4:19 p.m. Sunday, March 14,
1999, in Prompt Succor Nursing Home in Opelousas. She was a homemaker and a
member of the Ladies Altar Society and Our Lady of Mercy Rosary Group.
Survivors include: a son, Berchman Sylvester of Opelousas; five daughters, Dolores Cormier of Sedona, Ariz., Barbara Ziegler of Conroe, Texas, Germaine Kvimta of Pearland, Texas, Monica Cooper of Huntsville, Texas, and Mary Pitre of Opelousas; a brother, Shelton Lafleur of Opelousas; a sister, Mildred Poret of Baton Rouge; 31 grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; and numerous great-great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Sylvester was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Wilfred Sylvester;a son, Rev. Wilfred Sylvester; a daughter, Rose Roberts; three sisters,Antonia Lillie, Ethel Perry and Edna Delery; and a brother, Fr. Verbis Lafleur.
Lafond-Ardoin Funeral Home on the Old Sunset Hwy. in Opelousas is in charge of
arrangements.
